Revenue Sharing Through Partial Lab Ownership
Perhaps no other medical specialty demands a broader range of diagnostic and treatment knowledge and expertise, not to mention counseling and surgical skills. From primary care issues such as wellness, fitness & weight management and mental health, to managing complex health issues such as hormonal and metabolic dysfunction, cancer and surgical interventions for both women and expectant mothers, OBGYN's are tasked with a massive responsibility.  This truth is reflected in your exorbitant malpractice insurance premiums, one of the many ever increasing financial hurdles you must clear in this era of rising overhead costs and reduced provider reimbursements.

The good news is with all that responsibility comes massive opportunity if you take advantage of the tools, knowledge and expertise we make available to help you mitigate malpractice liability, enhance patient outcomes and increase revenues. We can help you maintain your independence and maximize your revenues through greater compliance and shared savings bonuses. In addition, we offer physician practices the opportunity to participate in substantial and legally compliant shared revenues from commercial lab testing services through partial ownership in the labs.

As we mentioned on the home page of this site, the move from Fee for Service based medicine to Evidence/Outcome based medicine has created a "perfect storm" of opportunity  that is unique in history; a win/win scenario of epic proportions. As an OBGYN, you are ideally positioned to take maximum advantage of those opportunities. We look forward to sharing more information and exploring how we can partner with you to create a better future for you and your patients!

Q: "We already have Quest and Labcorp doing our blood draws.  Why would we want to change that?"
A: Fantastic! The answer is we wouldn't. The lab we use for OBGYN's  is where Quest and Labcorp send their advanced testing to now.  Our lab has an agreement with Quest and Labcorp to handle our blood draws, so now you are eligible to participate in legally compliant shared lab revenues on the blood tests for your commercial payors as well as the advanced genetic testing, toxicology, etc.

Q: "We have tried to get involved with genetic testing before and were frustrated by the high cost and difficulty of establishing medical necessity for approval. What have you done to change that?"

A:  So glad you asked. We have chosen to do business with labs who take a responsible approach with conservative pricing and attainable access to care. Even uninsured patients can access state of the art pharmacogenomic testing for $299 and Hereditary Cancer screening for $249.
Some of the clinical tools we have validated with outcome based studies and make available (always on an in network basis) are shown below:
Wlness Blood                            Blood Allergy
Pharmacogenetic Test
Specimen type: buccal swab. Turnaround time: 3-5 business days.
Pharmacogenetics examines the influence of genetic differences to help understand the clinically relevant variation in drug response. Pharmacogenetic testing applies DNA technology to identify these naturally occurring differences to assist in optimization of
pharmacotherapy for individual patients. These advances in personalized medicine help to get the right drug to the right patient, at the right dose, all at the right time.

Indication(s) for Testing

• Condition not improving
• Unwanted side effects
• Allergic or adverse drug reactions
• Taking multiple medications
• Starting or taking anticoagulant therapies

Toxicology

Specimen types: urine / hair / oral fluid. Turnaround time: 48-72 hours.
Toxicology is the study of adverse effects of chemicals on the body including drugs (prescribed or illicit), foods, liquids and environment (sun, air, etc.). A simple urine screening test can help determine if a patient is abusing any drugs or medications. Toxicology tests are an excellent tool for OBGYN physicians to better treat their patients, as well as protecting infants.

Indication(s) for Testing

• Baseline evaluation of new patient (investigate current or recent use of relevant drugs)
• Patient is not responding to treatment
• Patient is experiencing adverse effects from treatment
• Misuse, abuse, or diversion is suspected

Hereditary Cancer Test
Specimen type: saliva. Turnaround time: 21 business days.
This test can empower you to change the course of cancer. Hereditary cancer has a greater impact across generations. Testing can help evaluate a genetic predisposition for cancer. This means you can take proactive steps to decrease your patient’s risk and help
them inform other family members about their risks. If cancer runs in the family, it’s better to find out sooner rather than later.

Indication(s) for Testing

• Personal history of cancer
• First or second degree blood relative with early onset (<50 y) of breast, ovarian,
prostate, pancreatic, endometrial, and/or colon cancer
• Blood relatives (same side of family) with same or related cancer
• Known familial mutation (e.g. BRCA1, BRCA2, TP53)s

Comprehensive Carrier Tests

Specimen type: saliva. Turnaround time: 5-8 business days.
This test can inform a couple if they are at risk of having a child with certain genetic conditions. When planning a family, preparing for pregnancy or during pregnancy, your patient will use the results you provide them to consider the most complete range of reproductive options. For many of these diseases, prevention is the only cure.

Indication(s) for Testing

• Patient belongs to an ethnic group that has a high rate of carriers of certain genetic disorders
• Patient has a genetic disorder
• Patient already has a child who has a genetic disorder
• There is a family history of a genetic disorder

Non-Invasive Prenatal Test

Specimen type: blood. Turnaround time: 5-7 business days.
The Non-Invasive Prenatal Test represents a major advance in prenatal testing, providing accurate answers about fetal chromosomal health — without the risks
associated with invasive procedures, such as amniocentesis or chorionic villus sampling (CVS).

Indication(s) for Testing

• Advanced Maternal Age (>35 y)
• Fetal Growth Abnormalities
• Positive Serum Screen
• Personal or Family History of Chromosomal Abnormalities or Genetic Conditions

Wellness Blood Tests

Specimen type: blood. Turnaround time: 72 hours (without allergy
test), or 7-10 business days (with allergy test).

Blood testing provides the ability to diagnose certain conditions, as well as monitor the progress and response to treatment. Testing also checks functions of certain
organs (liver & kidney) to avoid adverse drug reactions, response to allergies and infectious diseases.

Indication(s) for Testing

• Pregnancy
• Patients with hormone imbalance
• Patients with high cholesterol level
• Patients diagnosed with infectious disease(s)
• Patients who want to check body functions (liver, kidneys)
• Patients with (or suspected to have) allergies
